Works as expected Sep 27, 2008 In my experience with this umbrella, it performs as I expected it to. The build quality is pretty average and I haven't had any problems with it being overly fragile or tricky to manipulate. One thing to note is that it does not have a black backing so it does tend to spill more light through it than a black-backed umbrella generally would. I use this one mainly outdoors so the stray light isn't that big a deal but if I were shooting in a small studio with light-colored walls I'd probably go with an umbrella that didn't allow stray light to bounce around quite as much.
Essentially useless. Sep 15, 2008 This umbrella does a poor job of reflecting light onto photography subjects. A piece of foam board with a shiny surface that you can buy at Home Depot works far better.

Not Sturdy Apr 19, 2008 Not the best build. Do not let this fall, it just might break. Be careful opening it, it might just open up all the way, and it's VERY hard to get it back down to the correct position. Already had to be replaced once. Other than that, it's nice.
